Here’s One Of My Favorite Mantras + A Playlist For You

Breathe, feel, express…

This is my take on HOW TO BE PRESENT IN MY BODY VISCERALLY CONNECTED TO MY SENSES AND THE WORLD AROUND ME… AKA BECOME EMBODIED.

These are intense times.  I am practicing staying in my body and close to love like my sanity depends on it.

Embodiment is a huge part of my path… how to get out of the anxiety patterns.  The busy thoughts.  The over-thinking.  The “concepts” of spiritual ideas and doctrines that have yet to touch the living, the walking, the loving…

Breathe, feel, express…

These words are the words that I say again and again in every practice I lead.  And to myself all day.

Breathe.  Breathe into what is happening in the body, breathe big and full and bright.

Feel.  Feel what is happening there.  This can take awhile.  Numbness may be present.  You may feel stuck.  You may feel nothing.  Breathe and feel until you FEEL.

Express.  Sound it, write it, move it, express it through your whole being.  Mind, body, spirit.  Not using more mind concepts or thoughts, but in sounds or movements, color, art, beauty… but for me, mostly sound and movement!

This applies to many of life’s moments.

Have you ever been making love and you catch yourself thinking?

Perhaps about something happening that you wish was different?

“I wish they were touching me more like this…”

Or…

“Ugh… again?”

This is just one of life’s moments where the mind, body, and heart are at a disconnect.

And if you can remember to breathe, feel and express… then maybe you can come back into the body where the REAL TRANSFORMATION is awaiting you.

And breathe in that moment.  Feel what is there.

(Are you mad, sad, glad, scared, sexual?  Go with the basic feelings first because the more complex, the more heady you get!)

And then SOUND IT OUT and move it through the body…

Embodied spiritual practice can be confronting.

Embodied personal and spiritual transformation is terrifying.

It means not thinking about what you will do or change, but living and breathing it through your being, heart, eyes, legs, hands, mouth…

Is your jaw clenched?

Your body collapsed?

Your posture slumped?

Are you reaching for your phone?

Sweets?

In all those moments if you just stop and breathe, feel, and express… you may experience the transformation of one of your own shadow patterns taking you into a new place in your loving, your sexing, your connection to self…

It all happens in that one moment where we open or close because we are uncomfortable.

If you want to choose to open rather than close, just breathe, feel, and express…

Train yourself to do what they didn’t teach you in school when they said to sit still and be quiet and not feel and not speak up.

Train your inner soul rebel to remember who you really are.  To remember to feel.  To stand.  To shout.  To cry.  To share.  To express!

I am on a one-month couples’ retreat with my partner and in the depths of this practice DAILY.  We are transformational vessels and mirrors for each other and because I can remember those 3 words, I can find the courage to open to love and life when I want to turn away.
