This woman has been such a key part of my journey as a writer and mentor and artist. @rubywarrington discovered me when she was working for the London Times and she featured my web show "Be Here Nowish" in a 2 page glossy spread asking "Is this the new New Age?" Cut to two years later, we created Moon Club (which turned into @radicalawakenings) where we played with storytelling, astrology, moon rituals, healed ourselves, sifted through our own sh*t and empowered each other to stand, speak, share, and keep visioning and arting in this world.
She guest edited my book. And this is the 2nd time I am on her podcast. Super intimate...like me asking..."Do you see any of my old patterns come up around food ever? You can be real!" And she answers..."I did when you and X broke up. You were on back to back juice fasts."
The real talk about love. Workaholism. Eating. Pain. Addiction to "fixing ourselves" and more.
Ruby has reminded me that being a writer and speaker is enough. It's my deep and real calling and when I am with her, speaking with her, I am at my best.

I'll be finding some lakes or rivers or waterfalls to swim in naked this weekend, staring at the stars, laughing with a child, feet on grass, book in hand (not mine but one of the 20 i am currently reading) and breathing the night air....mmm xxx
ps. thank you @papayaplayaproject tulum from holding me during my book launch week with socially distanced breathwork, outdoor concerts, tea ceremony, qi gong, yoga, intimacy workhop, dance class, amazing food and drinks, pools I swam naked in, mosquitoes that ate me alive...what a magical time I am still landing from, feeling deeply after these quarantine months...x

how to find her way home to her heart,⁣⁣⁣
Her soul,⁣⁣⁣
Her wholeness.⁣⁣⁣

She shows you her weaknesses⁣⁣⁣
Her soft spots⁣⁣⁣
And laughs.⁣⁣⁣

She doesn’t need to put on a facade that she’s okay all the time.⁣⁣⁣

She isn’t okay,⁣⁣⁣
Or not okay⁣⁣⁣
She just IS.⁣⁣⁣

She’s been to the depths of her own hells and back again,⁣⁣⁣
She’s loved big and will love more,⁣⁣⁣
She gets food stuck in her teeth,⁣⁣⁣
She cries on the floor,⁣⁣⁣
She laughs loud,⁣⁣⁣
And just⁣⁣⁣
IS⁣⁣⁣
whatever⁣⁣⁣

She has nothing to be afraid of anymore.⁣⁣⁣

BUT if fear gets a hold of her when her awareness has slipped away, ⁣⁣
when she’s tired, ⁣⁣
or hormonal, ⁣⁣
or at an edge of growth-⁣⁣⁣
She stares it in the face⁣⁣⁣
She lets it moan, ⁣⁣
cry ⁣⁣
and have a life ⁣⁣
and watches it transform before her eyes, ⁣⁣
as it gets the attention ⁣⁣
and presence ⁣⁣
that it craved⁣.⁣⁣

As she faces each fear she is granted more height⁣⁣⁣
More breadth⁣⁣⁣
More courage in the world⁣⁣⁣
More presence⁣⁣⁣
More power⁣⁣⁣
More compassion⁣⁣⁣
To do her work,⁣⁣⁣
To share her gifts,⁣⁣⁣
To speak loud,⁣⁣⁣
To shine.⁣⁣⁣

So she keeps facing the fears⁣⁣⁣
and becoming more and more present,⁣⁣⁣
radiant,⁣⁣⁣
strong.⁣⁣⁣

And people say: “Oooh you look radiant! Is it the hot yoga? The microderm? The la mére cream?” ⁣⁣

She smiles and says: “No, just been facing my fears, making love to my own demons until they turn to gold and light me up from the inside.“⁣⁣⁣

“The thing I have learned about f*cking like a goddess is there there is no formula, no guarantee, excerpt committing to the present. To loving with an open heart. To feeling. To breathing. To letting every moment be a sacred moment of awakening, versus letting moments pass as mundane and causal, as if I were asleep.⁣⁣

I choose awake.⁣⁣

That means showing up so deeply, so alive, and so unattached to outcomes that it can be f*cking scary.⁣⁣

When you f*ck like a goddess the stakes are high. It can be frightening. You risk looking dumb or not knowing what will happen. But you risk for love. For living. For waking up. You do it, not only for you, but for the planet, the beings who will meet you with your wide-open raw heart and light shining through your eyes.
